Bracket Placement According to Malocclusion.
This article reports the orthodontic treatment ofa 25-year-old female patient whose chief complaint was the inclination of the maxillary occlusal plane in front view. The individualized vertical placement of brackets is described. This placement made possible a symmetrical occlusal plane to be achieved in a rather straightforward manner without the need for further technical resources.
متن کاملTorque differences due to the material variation of the orthodontic appliance: a finite element study
BACKGROUND Torque of the maxillary incisors is crucial to occlusal relationship and esthetics and can be influenced by many factors. The aim of this study was to assess the relative influence of the material of the orthodontic appliance (adhesive, bracket, ligature, and wire) on tooth displacements and developed stresses/strains after torque application. METHODS A three-dimensional upper righ...
متن کاملThe effect of vertical bracket positioning on torque and the resultant stress in the periodontal ligament—a finite element study
BACKGROUND The ideal built-in tip and torque values of the straight wire appliance reduce the need for wire bending and hence reduce chair time. The vertical position of the bracket on the tooth surface can alter the torque exerted on the tooth. This is a result of the altered surface curvature observed at each vertical position. To further clarify the role of vertical bracket positioning on th...
متن کاملEffect of play between bracket and archwire on anterior tooth movement in sliding mechanics: A three-dimensional finite element study
OBJECTIVES The aim of this study was to clarify the effect of the play between the bracket and the archwire on anterior tooth movement subjected to the retraction force from various lengths of power arms in sliding mechanics. MATERIALS AND METHODS A three-dimensional finite element method was used to simulate en masse anterior tooth retraction in sliding mechanics. The displacements of the ma...
متن کاملA New Switched Reluctance Motor Design to Reduce Torque Ripple using Finite Element Fuzzy Optimization
This paper presents a new design to reduce torque ripple in Switched Reluctance Motors (SRM). Although SRM possesses many advantages in terms of motor structure, it suffers from large torque ripple that causes problems such as vibration and acoustic noise. The paper describes new rotor and stator pole shapes with a non-uniform air gap profile to reduce torque ripple while retaining its average ...
